Richard Brincklow
Composer/producer
I've been making music for decades, starting out playing keyboards and piano in many bands and moving onto composing for picture and producing my own music.
My work for TV includes Panorama documentary Return From Isis: A Family's Story and part of the BBC documentary mini series In The Face of Terror. I have often worked with Andrew Phillips, including assisting on the acclaimed BBC/HBO documentary Nigeria's Stolen Daughters, which won an Emmy award for outstanding score. Other work includes When Football banned Women and Children on the Frontline for Channel 4.
Amongst a growing list of credits I have worked on a wide range of projects. Everything from the Bafta winning political drama Consenting Adults starring Charles Dance, to Paranormal Witness for the SyFy channel and documentaries like the HBO/ Channel 4 Crack House USA.
I love to experiment and am always exploring. My EP, Wall Gazing was featured on Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone on 6music and was also chosen for the NMC lockdown project. I also write and produces for my band Bledig which has had numerous plays on BBC6music and was a Quietus track of the year. A new album came out in late 2023.
In the past my band Bellows has been played repeatedly on Radio 3 and I have toured the world as a keyboard player and pianist.
Before that I played with Medal who were signed to Polydor and shared management with Radiohead. I wrote cinematic instrumentals for the band which gave the impetus for exploring a future in composing for picture.
I have also toured and recorded with acts like Passenger and One Little Indian artist Polak.
I formally studied a degree in composition for broadcast in Brighton, achieving a first.
